The wedding stationery has a very important role to play in weddings. From the engagement to the dinner rehearsals to the wedding ceremony to the reception, the wedding stationery is all part of it.

In preparing your wedding stationery, it would be helpful if you make a list of some things that you need to check to make sure that you will get what you want for that very special day:

Your style

This is the very first factor that you should think about when deciding how to go about your wedding stationery. Keep in mind that your style should be coordinated in all the wedding elements such as the flowers, gowns, venue, decorations and giveaways. Imagine the style that you have in mind and try to foresee if the execution of that particular style would look good on all the elements. For example, if you are planning to have a traditional wedding, your wedding stationery and calligraphy should also bear that style.

Wedding stationery list

Once you have already decided on the style, prepare a list of all the items that you need. A wedding stationery set can consist of several items such as the save-the-date cards, announcement cards, bridal shower invites, menu cards, place cards, tags, location/direction cards and a whole lot more. If you are on a budget, do not worry because you do not have to have them all. You can just stick to the essentials. You can start by getting a list of all the items then ticking them off one by one if you think that the item is not necessary. Some items that can taken off the list are table numbers, menus and cocktail napkins.

Quantity

In placing your order for the wedding stationery, it is safer and more cost-efficient to order a few extra pieces so you will not run out of it in case there are additional guests that you want to invite. This would cost less than buying the exact quantity then ordering a few additional pieces later on.

Timeframe

Prepare the wedding stationery way ahead of time. You need a lot of time putting together names and addresses, then putting them inside the envelopes. Even if you hire a calligrapher to do the writing, it would still take time. Consider also the time required for the invitations to get to its destination if you are using the postal service. It would be too costly to get a courier service to send all invitations overnight just because the invitations were not done early on.
