Where can I browse gown/dress patterns for sewing?

I am having a friend create my wedding gown/dress, and I need a pattern. Where is a good place to look for patterns, or any good websites.

How good is your friend? These are not the usual patterns, but quite fashionable.... you need to be able to sew without directions to use them well.

Designer clothing is eclectic. It ranges widely from classic evening gowns to latest fashions in shoes, jewelry, purses and sunglasses. In fact, the outlets, which cater to designer clothing, cater totally to women's requirements. The amount of versatility in women's clothing stimulates designers to produce exquisite outfits. Designer gowns are opulent pieces of art, which are "one of a kind" gowns, which fit perfectly and make the wearer feel really good. The gowns can vary from ones, which have plunging necklines and trailing skirts to carpet gowns full of beading and sequins. Sometimes outdated ball gowns are reworked on and converted into ecstatic versions of evening dresses. With matching bags, wraps and footwear, the end product is usually stunning. The fabrics are rich, elegant and sophisticated. With the perfect fabric, a perfect color and a perfect fit, designer gowns augur a perfect time. Designer evening gowns are haute couture.

Shopping for a designer evening dress can be an eye-opening experience for some women. While some women will take the expensive price tag attached to these dresses in stride, other will be shocked when they realize that designer evening dresses can cost several hundred dollars. Who can afford to spend that much money on one dress?

Every girl has a fantasy to look her best on the prom night. It is a tradition to get ready for celebrating the prom night. No girl will miss it. With the hype and pre arrangements, even your daughter will be drifted towards the same. Your daughter will not know whether she is putting such a lot of energy is worth or not. But she thinks she has a right to this. As a matter of fact every young person has a right for this. A designer dress can be so expensive as 300 to 1000 dollars. You can talk frankly with your daughter as regards to the prom dress. If her friend's are all wearing expensive designer gowns, she will be tempted for the same. You can insist to share the expenses. You can give her the limit of a particular amount that you can afford and the balance to be borne by her. You can encourage her to take up a part time job for some months before the prom night. This will make her self- reliant and due to this she will understand the value of money.

One of the issues you must consider is the frequency with which you will wear the dress. Are you a party planner who works at formal events regularly? In a case like this, you could buy one designer evening dress and wear it to each event. Spending a little extra for a well-made dress will more than pay off in the long run when compared to the idea of buying several cheaply-made dresses over the next year.

On the other hand, if you rarely dress up and are shopping for a dress to wear to a cousin's wedding, investing in a designer evening dress may not be in your best interest. Rather than spending several hundred dollars for a dress that you will wear one time, you could select a less expensive dress from one of your favorite department stores. You'll look lovely and be much more comfortable with your spending.
